Fred Houston and Promise

God manifested a new thing in the earth when Fred Houston and Promise was established in September 2001. This ensemble consists of a group of stirred young people who believe in worshiping God with their whole mind, body, and spirit. Promise has been chosen by God to bring clarity to various principals in the Word of God. Today, they travel and sing under the power of the anointing to meet the needs of the people.

Although Fred originally planned to name the group Fred Houston and Company, his plans experienced a divine intervention when God spoke the name “Promise”. Since this heavenly establishment, the mission of Fred Houston and Promise has been to worship God through song, mission work, and a lifestyle that is acceptable to God, as stated in Romans 12:1-2:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Promise has a clear understanding of what it means to serve a progressive God. Therefore, they welcome change. Houston states, “We know that God is a progressive God, but we never get on an emotional roller coaster of change…unless we know that our change is rooted and grounded in the bedrock of scripture.”

Promise believes that the promises of God are conditional, and are only guaranteed to the believers who choose a lifestyle in accordance with the Word of God through faith. Likewise, a holy lifestyle combined with prayer, patience, and obedience to the Word will lead God’s people to receive the promises that He has for them.
