Drawing upon a wide range of aesthetics, the music of Fred Woods is created through a unifying synthesis of contemporary folk and minimalism.
Although deeply rooted in the singer-songwriter genre, his music explores territories that are reminiscent of electronic and repetitive music, using mostly traditional instruments such as acoustic guitar, harmonium, charango and drums.
In trying to create a world of his own, Fred Woods pushed the boundaries of folk music by finding new ways to revisit simple forms as well as including lyrics that are at the same time universal and very personal.
In a live context, he is joined by a core of talented musicians, creating a solid, unique and uncompromising performance.
