Duo Electronic DJ

"...Local DJs that opened for her were Free Mode, a duo that mixed indie-dance songs together and backed them by live drums. They are exciting to experience! They music they chose was so fun. For instance, the mixed some Justice songs, Michael Jackson songs, and some Ludacris in a very Girl Talk type of way. Except it was more dancing involved and cheery tone. Meanwhile some guy on the drums is pushing the momentum forward by crashing the drums. The crowd was jumpin’." - Radio UTD

"Final night of Thin Line ends on a powerful note"

Self-titled “electronic duo” Free Mode entertained the Silver Leaf crowd as DJs, drummers and producers, adding their own instrumental interpretation to remixes of both well-known and more obscure songs.

Following a lengthy sound check, Salman Farooq and Thomas Cook carried the easy energy cultivated by [opener] Banco’s preceding performance.

“This ain’t yo’ mama’s DJ group,” they said with smiles and laughs onstage.

A few more people trickled into the venue as the Denton performers enthusiastically jammed onstage. Some got up to dance and others occasionally sang along as they sat at tables surrounding the stage. Whether drawn by the energy within or entering in anticipation for the act that would follow, audience members undeniably enjoyed the show. - NT Daily

Still working on that hot first release.

About Free Mode:

In an attempt to remove the negative stigma from the term "DJ,"
Free Mode is a performance group that features a DJ and Drummer in a
show where, as the name suggests, nothing is off limits.

What started as a hobby in the bedroom of their DJ, Salman Farooq,
quickly turned into something much bigger when he met drummer, Thomas Cook. One coming from a background of trance, house and video games, the
other, classic rock n roll, alternative rock and experimental
electronica, the two bonded on the foundation that music should be an
art, not a vehicle for partying and money making. As their friendship
grew, they exchanged their musical influences and realized they both
shared a dream of a career in the music industry. They came across Fix Your Face Vol. 1 & 2 by TRV$-DJAM and decided it was time someone took a project like this to the next level. They brainstormed and came
up with the idea of a DJ that performs like a rock show; where people
come to the club to see the band/artist, not just to dance; where
there's a real musician playing a real instrument and where the DJ does
more than press play and fist pump. Together, they use their knowledge
of music to craft sets that includes songs that you can dance to,
songs that rock, and songs you may not always hear in a club. They
present their show as a blank page where old school and new school
blended with real artistry make a unique experience for the audience
every time.
