Bio

This is how Freekok came to be:

Jon von Letscher is a visual artist and electronic musician from USA who now lives in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Per Stenbeck is a producer and pop/rock musician from Gothenburg with a degree in sound design.

Both Jon and Per have years of experience in recording and creating music. They have also both been on tour (Australia, New Zealand, USA) with their respective previous bands, playing shows to crowds of 10.000 people and over!

They met through mutual friends in 2010 and within a few months, they had created their sound: A mix of electro/pop/hiphop and dance.

They wrote a new song everytime they hung out, and all of a sudden, they had enough material for an album.

Background

Jon grew up in an artists household. His father is the well known visual collage artist Lance Letscher. From a young age Jon began with drawing, then shifted to songwriting at the age of 13. He continued to write songs for 7 years before taking it to the live stage, first as a solo act and then together with the local Austin hiphop group Vehicular. They played over 200 shows throughout Texas before Jon parted ways to form the band Honeyclaws. This is where he went on his first international tour (2008). He played two festivals in New Zealand to over 4000 people that year. The following year he played shows in Brazil, Australia, Los Angeles and two festivals in New Zealand; one of them being the prestigeous "Big Day Out" (The Prodigy headlined that year). Honeyclaws music is still currently featured on various MTV programs and was popular on both Australian and New Zealand radioshows. He then moved on to start his solo project "Jet Horns" (2009). The same year he had his first two gallery exhibitions featuring his paintings. He writes all vocals, production etc for Jet Horns. He met Per Stenbeck to form the duo Freekok in 2010.

Shifter recorded an album with legendary producer Rob Feaster (Johnny Cash, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jack Johnson, Blink 182, No doubt, etc) at 301 Studios, Byron Bay. He also toured the eastcoast multiple times with a number of different bands before going back to Sweden in 2009.
