"French Cassettes Newest Video"

The song itself is catchy, with the disinterested cool of indie but the tight, head-bobbing bounce of pop. Hit the jump to bob along.

"NorCal Report: French Cassettes"

The young lads of French Cassettes make ditties that are sunny and bright; songs that will make you want to get up and shimmy on the gloomiest of days. Every once in a while I come across a band that I feel compelled to put on every mix CD I make for the next three months, and this is one of those bands.
This Bay Area group formed when the quartet were still in high school, which wasn’t that long ago, surprisingly. In the short time the group has been around they’ve managed to craft a sound that is both poppy and refined — saccharine without being sickening.
For such a young group of musicians, French Cassettes really know how to produce clean, shiny pop songs, even flawlessly incorporating saxophone on the killer groove “Hands.” The shining gem of “Mouth Drum,” on the Summer Darling EP, features rollicking drums and a groovy guitar riff layered in with singer Scott Huerta’s scorching vocals. Having just two EPs under their belt, they’re already starting out on a gorgeous note. They’ll get your hips swaying and have you singing along with every listen. -

"French Cassettes-Radley(video)"

French Cassettes are a young band from San Francisco, which sound could be described as an eclectic mix of indie, French pop and psychedelic rock. While indie rock is not my preferred genre of music, French Cassettes manage to capture a very cool retro essence but staying fresh and catchy. A funky bass, a groovy guitar and smooth vocals make of Radley a really easy going, listenable track.

Radley is also their first video, which was filmed by The Perez Brothers in the San Francisco Bay area. French Cassettes have released an EP through iTunes, titled Summer Darling, and if you’re still doubtful, you can listen to a few tracks on their Myspace page. -

"French Cassettes"

Since attending high school together in the small town of Ripon, California, French Cassettes have been writing songs and performing as a band for over 5 years and have become one of the most eclectic and exciting bands in the Bay area. Comprised of Scott Huerta (vocals, guitar and percussion), Mackenzie Bunch (guitar, keys), Ben Isganitis (drums) and Thomas Huerta (bass), French Cassettes are a distinctly talented group with rich harmonies and intricate rhythms. Their sound has earned them such accolades as First Place in the Hayward Battle of the Bands, Second Place in the Bay Rising Battle of the Bands, a Top Four Finalist in a nationwide MySpace Music competition and were also selected as Artist of the Week on With such unforgettable songs and a delightfully commanding live performance, French Cassettes are not to be missed! -

Summer Darling EP(2011)

French Cassettes are a four-piece indie pop band whose recent release, Summer Darling, is not only easy on the ears but also serves as a clear statement of their upbeat intentions. In the few years that French Cassettes have been together, they have made a significant impact on both the local and national scene. With their roots in Ripon, California, a small central valley town, and currently based in San Francisco, French Cassettes have won numerous area music awards and competitions including the famed Hayward Battle of the Bands. They were also voted into the final four of a nation-wide Myspace contest competing against thousands of bands. With a fun and energetic live show, don’t let the danceable pop sound fool you, these boys take their craft seriously and are ready to prove their commitment to both causal and dedicated listeners.
