Frenchie Davis is a multi-talented spoken word artist from Detroit who specializes in enticing and educating her audiences. She featured on Russell Simmons presents HBO’s Def Poetry Jam. Her work has been featured or written of in the Native Detroiter Magazine, The Michigan Chronicle, Detroit’s WJLB-FM 98 and WRKS-FM 98.7 in New York City. In 2001, she published her first book of poems titled, “Not From Between My Thighs.” It is a dichotomy of spiritual sexuality designed to be informing and entertaining. NFBMT is sold in NYC’s Museum of Sex where Frenchie once worked. Frenchie has worked at Bailey House, a supportive housing program for HIV/AIDS victims and has supervised a shelter for domestically abused women and their children. Frenchie is very busy pursuing her ED.D in human sexuality so she can implement modern sex education programs into collegiate and high school curriculums. Davis already travels with a spoken word and workshop program titled, “Sexcellence Spoken”. It’s devised to help young people evaluate decisions regarding intimacy and how it affects them personally and socially. Frenchie continues to aspire to educate young and mature adults on intimacy, self-respect and communication.
