California! Confessions (lp)

The Lost Sessions (lp)

The future has arrived, and the dawn of a new age in time lies before us. 2012 has brought forth a new technological age that will transcend not only society, but also the music and media we enjoy as well. Sitting at the precipice of hip-hop’s digital era is a charismatic young talent by the name of Fre$h! Young (born: Justin Collins). An active and aspiring songwriter, author, arranger, director, poet and overall creative entity, Fre$h! recently joined forces with Black Ribbon Entertainment and has come to terms of a co-publishing agreement. He is also the current/ active owner of Frances Alma Publishing and T.G.I.F. Media Group.
Born and raised of African-American and West Indian descent on the inner city streets of Oakland, CA, Fre$h! Young has endured many hardships associated with growing up in an impoverished environment and attributes his love of music and faith in himself as ideals which got him through his toughest times in life. He acknowledges his older brother Norman (aka Norm Nizz) as the person whom first garnered his interest in hip-hop music, and cites Nas, Eazy-E, Snoop Dogg, and Tupac amongst others as his first lyrical inspirators. In 2007 at the ripe age of 18, Fre$h! decided upon ultimately pursuing his songwriting talents in hopes of one day being able to better provide for his family and achieve a dream of musical super-stardom. He would go on to obtain lukewarm successes with singles such as “I’m on” and “That’s Right”. However, the party came to an abrupt end when Fre$h!’s older brother and manager/ mentor ‘Norm Nizz’ was indicted and ultimately sentenced. Nizz is currently incarcerated in Corcoran, California.
Now it is time for Fre$h! Young to grab hold of the reigns, and resurrect the integrity in the art-form which saved his life (hip-hop music). Teamed with a lively, youthful administrative group, Fre$h! has his sights set on the bright lights and iPod playlists near you. With current projects: California! Confessions (July 2011), Equilibrium (Spring 2011), and album ‘Luxuriot’ (Summer 2012) all slated for release, the floodgates of attention have been opened and thus the future looks assuring for T.G.I.F. Media/ Black Ribbon Ent. Be sure to look out for new singles ‘Terminator’ and ‘S.K.I.T.S-Sex-Kush-ignorance-taking-stage’, as well as DOPE!
