Bio

Welcome to Canarsie, the OTHER SIDE of Marcy. Sit back, relax, and let Fric Frac take you on a tour of the hood - the hip hop home of soul, funk, style, and flow. It's easy to flow with The Frac; this movement is without hatred, without violence, and without weapons. Only things thrown down here are sick vocals and mad skill - a dangerous combo to be sure...Music is not about being gangsta; it's not about killing people and hating on females. It is about the hip hop, the movement, the groove - the big picture.

So with that some introductions...

CIFE....MAN, the pater familius of Fric Frac, has been at it honing his skills for over a decade. The Man's use of astute word usage has become his notable signature in addition to being born with a great set of pipes, and versatility when it comes to using them. Confident yet humble, Cife...Man hails from East 85th street, Canarsie, Brooklyn and lets both his New York and Haitian roots come through in his flows.

MACKALEVIN, the lyrical weapon, is too smooth for his own good. With slick rhymes and clever lyrics, his rhymes command attention because of his ability to converse the flow to the audience. Mack hails from East 81st street Canarsie and flows about what he knows, never forgetting where he came from.

STATUS, known by all as the vocal warrior of the group, has been on the grind since he was 13. His voice shows you the world through his eyes, which can be often painful, harsh, and dark, but which leaves the undertone of optimism lingering for a brighter tomorrow. If the man is as closed and guarded as some might suggest, the music he makes is the opportunity for us to understand and certainly to relate. Status' vocal range, versatility, and gift for rhythm flow through him to contribute to the The Frac and are a tribute both to his two homes - East 88th street, Canarsie, Brooklyn and Haiti.

REMEDY, a friend and affiliate of Fric Frac for many years and front-man for U.G.M is at just 18, the youngest contributor to the Movement. Remy is, to quote Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest, "smooth like butter." A light contrast to the intense flows of The Frac, Remy is able to take us on an incredible ride masterfully creating springboards off of which The Frac can bounce.
