Bio

“It’s Friday!” and that is a cause for celebration. Harold Thompson p/k/a Friday has been celebrating for a long time. From a very young age being the life of the party in his native South Bronx neighborhood made everyday seem like a Friday and so the moniker stuck.
Friday has been intrigued with hip hop since his grade school days. He used to make up songs at the school lunch table and everyone he encountered knew Friday was destined to be an entertainer. His first big break came when DJ Ron G featured one of his songs on his Platinum Series mix tape. This was just the kind of justification a young Friday needed to have to prove to himself he was on the right path. But instead of pursuing his dreams of being an entertainer, he decided to finish school first and then enter the music business. He enrolled in a HBCU and headed down south.
While at school in the south, Friday embraced the southern lifestyle and culture. Now although he partied like his name depended on it, it was this new environment that assisted in the molding of the artist he is today. He honed his production skills and kept himself sharp by entering and winning numerous rap contest and open mike events. He studied hard, partied hard, and dedicated himself to the craft of making music. He elevated his production expertise at Clark Atlanta University, graduating with a degree in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in radio. He worked with up and coming artists from New York, Atlanta, Virginia, Florida, New Jersey and The Carolinas to produce some great songs including “Holding On” which became a underground southern hit.
After five years of enjoying the southern life and the seminal fame that came along with being an underground phenomenon, Friday decided to return to New York City and dedicate himself to becoming a national hip hop phenomenon. With the same go hard mentality he had while in the south, Friday continued to do numerous showcases throughout New York City. With his buzz growing he began to get request for radio interviews which ultimately led up to him meeting the founder of Grind Season Music Group, Haj Euro. His talent was so recognizable that he was invited to tour with Grind Season Music Group. “Having the opportunity to go on stage and go to different cities and radio stations across the country has made me feel like I am here and very blessed for the chance”, states an excited Friday. Shortly after Friday joined Grind Season Music Group he was signed to his very first label deal. He created a mantra that he follows to this day. “In the midst of systematic stagnancy just make your own way” are the words that Friday lives by. He is definitely no stranger to doing things his way and he doesn’t mind being different. He assures that he has not taken for granted the calling on his life to affect millions around the world through his music. Anyone could be next to hold the torch but Thank God it’s Friday!
