"4Ways - Open Mic Night 6"

Fridge Poetry the final band taking the stage is one of my fave’s and having seen this great band on two previous occasions I cannot add more other than they are getting better and better. Can’t wait to get a cd to add to my collection of great bands as one day they may be famous and I will be privileged to have been able to write on them. **
The guitar work and general playing was as always… fantastic and they deliver every time without problem and without hesitation. They have the good and I love to watch them play.
Even their cover versions did not irritate me as all normally do and I enjoyed each one. - Philip Howard

"On the Obscene Roads"

You witness progressive acts like Fridge Poetry who successfully bridge the indie/ska barrier, delivering music that is both imaginative and intelligent while remaining catchy and fun. - Max Barashenkov

Bio

Tim Harbour (Vocals & Guitar) Bhekinkosi Hlatshwayo (Brass) Ivan Oberholster (Bass) Mark van Dijk (Drums)

Fridge Poetry was conceptualised by Tim Harbour in the closing months of 2009. Formed from the ashes of Joburg’s Ninja Disco outfit, Tv IV Dogs, Tim Harbour and Mark van Dijk began jamming out the skeleton of this massive beast to come.

Soon joined by Press Ok bassist, Nick Williams, the meat arrived and the music starting coming to life, finally adding trumpeter Bheki Hlatswayo to the mix.

Throughout the year of 2010 Fridge Poetry have played many well received gigs, most notably opening for Joburg’s The Death Valley Blues Band at the Jose Cuervo Pre Oppikoppi party. Also opening for Cape Town Ska Rockers Hog Hoggidy Hog on their most recent tour in 2010.

Nick Williams parted ways with the band in October of 2010 to be replaced by the hirsute Ivan Oberholster who brought some new flavour to the funk, while seamlessly merging into the Fridge Poetry vibes.

Though still young Fridge Poetry is becoming a force to be reckoned with and is expecting good things for the near future, attempting to achieve the highest level of musical quality possible while still providing a banging party wherever required.
