Bio

Friendship are Daniel Hills and William deWitt. The former once a guitarist in Redjetson, before escaping post-rock for a world a little more open and ….’fun’.

The duo met just prior to Hills leaving Redjetson and they soon realised they both had the same interest for pushing music in a more depraved and up-beat direction. At this time they knew they wanted to do something different but, for Hills a change of instruments was needed first. Never having played drums or sung a note, the pair were definitely reaching into the unknown. That mixed with William not having picked up a guitar since school days, a moral determination to make sure no laptops would be used and the appetite to create a live sound far bigger than the usual guitar and drum outfit...they had their work cut out.

‘The Graveyard Shift’ is the debut single from Friendship, released on Too Pure. It’s one unique and exciting dish, just the right side of leftfield with the usual dollop of infectiousness and melody. It’s a thrashing, noodling, looping, stampeding beast with a teasing, calypso style guitar riff running through its dancing, pulsating veins.

The band recently toured with PENS, have upcoming shows with Future Of The Left and Jennifever, and can be seen at The Great Escape Festival in May. Further live dates can be viewed via the website.
