Bio

The beginning of 2010 was not in a fashion any band wants to start a year. In the past, From Greater Heights, formerly Censored Chaos, was Hamilton's go-to opening band, playing with some of Southern Ontario's leading acts including Cancer Bats, Dead and Divine and Counterparts, as well as opening for some of the largest acts in the genre such as Blind Witness, Blessed By A Broken Heart, Carnifex and The Holly Springs Disaster. The Summer of 2009 saw the band hit it's peak, supporting Beneath the Sky (Victory) and Forever In Terror (Metal Blade) on the Canadian Leg of their lengthy tour. However, 4 member departures within 6 months left a shell of a band unsure of it's future. Original members Joey Turner (Vocals), Brandon Portman-Secuur (Guitar), alongside newcomer Joey Jongeling (Guitar) had to decide whether or not to carry on as a band.

Fast forward to summer 2010. After making the decision to carry on, a complete lineup was finally established, consisting of Joey Turner, Brandon Portman-Secuur and Joey Jongeling alongside new drummer Steven Andrikopoulos and bassist Jamie Boydell. The band acquired it's own recording equipment and began preparation to unveil the new From Greater Heights. Completely self produced, their newly released EP "For the Better" is a result of hard work and a summer of writing. Integrating new influences with previous styles, the new music is easily the most mature songs the band has ever written - a statement often thrown around by bands. In this case it's evident in listening to the music that this is a band that has come leaps and bounds, and is on track to do even more in due time.
