"From the Airport : Chemical Love"

From the Airport was one of those great discoveries through bandcamp. I found their first single there and have been watching them since. They released a couple more singles on the site and then signed to Fluxus Music. - KoreanIndie

"INTERVIEW : FROM THE AIRPORT"

[ INTERVIEW : FROM THE AIRPORT ]

Firstly, we want to know more about you ! Can you introduce yourself please ? And why did you choose "From the airport" as name for your band ? - MOKSORI France

"Album Review: From The Airport ‘Chemical Love’"

Founded in 2012 by Milo (guitar, bass, vocals, synthesizers, producing) and Zee (DJ, vocals, synthesizers, drums, producing), From The Airport came on strong the same year when the debuted. - LoveKpop

"[Special] Interview with From The Airport, February 2014"

Previously, RekON introduced you to a garage rock band from South Korea, Eastern Sidekick (ESK). Now, RekON will introduce you to their label mate from Fluxus, an electro rock duo From The Airport. Joining in June 2013, they are the most recent artists to join Fluxus. They recently released their first EP album, Chemical Love, with the same-titled single on February 6 2014. Even so, they actually have already released several digital singles beforehand. - Relawan Konser

"Korean Indie Playlist: Check From It"

Ok, so, we know very little about this band. I think they just came out, but – right after this song came out – we got a bunch of requests for it. New bands usually don’t have that good a marketing push, I don’t think. So maybe they’ve been around before, or maybe there’s a good hype machine behind them? I don’t know. Either way, if they’re new or if they’re old, they’re cool, and we like this song. We’re fans of distortion in music. Not sure why. I like it when music sounds dirty. Clean vocals don’t really do it for us that much. So…yeah! - Eat Your Kimchi

"From The Airport - Colors"

One place where we don't get many submissions from is South Korea, which is where electro pop duo From The Airport resides. Both members of the band Milo and Zee, they had clear musical visions ever since they started hitting piano notes and tuning guitars in their early ears, explaining that they "use music as a means to convey powerful, positive messages." - Indie Shuffle

"February's best music from across the MAP"

Electro rock duo From The Airport formed in 2012 and they're not afraid to throw other genres in the mix. Second single Everyone's Alright was released last month but here we get to hear them as they first came out with electro-pop debut single Colors, which brought the two producers plenty of positive attention when it was unleashed in October. - The Guardian

"Review: Why Korean Indie Band From the Airport's Debut EP 'Chemical Love' Is My Feel-Good Album Of The Month"

Let me introduce you to my personal feel-good band and song of the month, "Chemical Love" by the South Korean indie rock group From the Airport. - KpopStarz

"From The Airport: ready for take-off!"

From The Airport est un duo très « indie » dont la popularité s’accroit doucement et légitimement dans son pays d’origine, la Corée du Sud. - Les Trois Doigts de la Main

"From the Airport : Timelines"

From the Airport continue to release a new song every few months. While I would prefer a full-length, at least it’s good to know that From the Airport are continuing to work on new music. Timelines is a single song that sounds more like electro-rock than their other tracks, but comes across just as addictive. - KOREANINDIE

"An Interview with up and coming group, From The Airport."

Beyond Hallyu recently had the opportunity to do a short interview with Korean rock group, From The Airport. Here we learnt a little more about their thoughts on the music they produce, what direction they will be taking their music in and their plans for the future. - Beyond Hallyu

Bio

From the Airport came together in early 2012 when Milo (Producing, Guitar, Bass, Keys, Vocals) and Zee (Producing, DJ, Drums, Keys, Vocals) met at a friend’s underground studio. They quickly realized they both had very similar musical taste and style and arranged to do a jam session for fun. During the session, the duo’s natural chemistry led them to experiment and create the product of which was the foundation for their first track “Colors.”

“We wanted to reach not just the local audience but the global audience as well. Since airports are the venues in which the people around the world cross paths, we thought the name was fitting.”

Both Milo and Zee have a nice blend of experiences prior to teaming up. Milo’s guitar mastery and composing prowess were honed from film music production (Jesus Band, Korea, Shirano Agency) and Zee developed on the keys and DJ/producing while composing for K-pop music scene (Banana Dynamite, MC Sniper, J). Together, their collaborative abilities and skills synergize to create From the Airport’s unique sound. A mix of energizing distortions, enchanting dance beats, soaring melodies, and moving lyrics, From the Airport is constantly evolving and pushing their music with each note they write.

From the Airport’s first two singles, ‘Colors’ and ‘Everyone’s All Right,’ was well received by the world media and audience. Garnering attention from UK media, The Guardian, From the Airport was name as one of the international bands of the Month February 2013. A few months later with the release of their third single ‘Timelines,’ they were able to bump Grammy award winners, Daft Punk, from the top spot on the US’s Indie Shuffle charts. In June 2013, the high flying duo decided to take the next step and signed with Fluxus Music, a Korean music label that consists of Korea’s top pop/indie artists such as Loveholics, Urban Zakapa, and Clazziquai Project.

Leaving the basement studio for brighter skies, they created their first EP album, ‘Chemical Love’ which was released in February 2014 and shared a message of positivity and optimism for the lives and life around us. From the Airport released their first full-length Album, ‘You Could Imagine’ on January 9th, 2015.
