Bio
The Fruit of the Spirit is four sisters, raised in a family of nine (yes, 9)! With 6 girls and 1 boy, there was never a dull moment. Our house was the softball field, basketball court, and any other activity everybody wanted to play and when we were grounded (which was bound to happen at any moment), it was just us and you better believe, there was never a dull moment! We would hold our own talent shows and musicals, taking commercials and coming up with dance routines and changing lyrics around to make our own songs.
Our dad was a DJ and had access to the latest gospel artists of that time (we're talking early to mid '70's) and there was music playing all of the time, gospel and classical. We weren't allowed to play secular music, but sometimes we'd try to sneak a radio station, playing really low, in our bedroom.
Our grandfathers were singers and sang in quartet groups, our father sang with his brothers in a quartet group, so it's almost as if we don't have a choice, but to sing! We would travel around with them as they sang and people absolutely loved them (the K-Brothers); to us, it was just the "norm", but we had no clue we'd be doing the same. We started by accompanying our father when he would go out and preach. All of the children formed his own personal choir. We'd fall asleep sometimes, but we were always awakened to sing before or after he finished preaching. We also sang in our church's youth choirs, primary and college choirs. We just did what we knew to do. One day our father sent us down to our uncle's house (who played for the K-Bros.) and told us to let him work with us on singing and the rest is history.
It is with absolute joy and love we sing! We don't take it lightly and embrace all that the Lord has in store for us, whether it be singing at our home church, in the "hood" or on the biggest stage, we just want God to be pleased with what He hears...
