Bio
Emerging hip-hop artist performer FRU (fellow rebellious underdog) oozes confidence, and while swagger is nothing new to the genre, FRU is on the verge of creating an outstanding track record worth backing up.He wields a rare gift for revealing psychologically intimate details of his own inner self, with a natural flair for cinematic song construction.
The houston born moved to Maryland in his teen where he resided with his aunt in search of a better life but later on succumbed to the streets. He wrote poetry with no intentions of becoming a rapper but just a trip to a studio session with his friend gave birth to a lyricist. " I was just giving him a ride to the studio but when I got there I fell in love with the vibe and the process of making music." The public received him with open arms and high praise for his musical talents.
He recorded a 13 track demo tape which created a buzz locally for the young mc however nothing panned out from those impressions generated. While living on the edge and not knowing where his next meal was coming from FRU ran into a manager that took him under his wing thus leading to a meeting with def jam associates in New york which was unsuccessful. Frustrated as well as intensively raged he returned to Maryland and after a year of struggling through a series of setbacks he recorded and released his independent debut titled "UNTIL NATURE CALLS" which included his first single and video for "living again" which sold over 15,000 records on the street and online.
This DMV representative is now fielding offers from various major and independent record labels but until he makes a final decision on a label home, FRU is hard at work with the release of his second solo debut EP entitled "One day at a time" due out in May 2011. A final statement from FRU states " luck is the residue of skill."
