Bio
The summation of FMRJE's musicianship amounts to more than a century of drumming and orchestral improvisations. Rooted in the exploration of the uncertainty principle of quantum mechanics through improvisational music. fmrje encompasses the avant garde electric acid funk jazz out music concept provided drummer Dennis Warren's all the time all-improv drum power.
Bio:
Dennis studied at Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio, Black Music Department 1970 to 1972 with Cecil Taylor and Andrew Cyrille. Earned BA in 1984 at Bennington College, Bennington, Vermont, studying in the Black Music Division with Bill Dixon and Milford Graves 1975 to 1979 and 1981 to 1984. Performed and recorded for FMP Records in Berlin in 1991; Knickelsdorf, Austria Jazz Festival 1991 & 1992; Ulrichsberg Jazz Festival, Austria in 1991. Club Theolonius, Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1992 all with the Raphe Malik Quintet. In 1995 & 1996 FMRJE opened & closed respectively the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival-Next Wave Series.
