"Emo's Fest Set the Music Free For a Week"

... Emo's on the other hand, was packed as if it were Friday night during South by Southwest, which was probably lovely for the bar tab, but mighty unpleasant for some of us. Friday night, the Flood's sludge and Full Stride's hard rock duo-isms on the inside stage competed with Lomita's Bowie-buzz on the outside stage... - Austin American Statesman XLENT by Joe Gross 1/11/07

"Full Stride EP Review"

"There's always going to be a place in this civilization for straight up guitar riff rock n' roll. Full Stride maintains that "less is more" as Amber Dickerson and Trent Parker evoke sounds conjured up by more than two usually. The duo has been playing together for several years, having provided the city with the underrated Southern Gun Culture as well as Twin Sister. On their current EP, Full Stride creates their own niche with Dickerson's throaty yet sweet vocals aided by Parkers grinding drums (and occasional vocals.) All this topped off by heart pounding guitar licks and doused in streaming bass lines. Recently selected for the Zippo Hot Tour showcase as well as the Cabo Wabo Battle of the Bands, Full Stride plays regularly at everyone's favorite Red River haunt. I was able to witness their metal mosaic at Red Eyed Fly recently, and having picked up their EP, I recommend it to the Dixie Witch, Fu Manchu, etc. connoisseurs of this world."- Adi Anand - Reloaded (Austin, Tx) vol.4 issue 56

"CD reviews: Full Stride; Supersuckers; Okkervil River; Korn"

Full Stride, "Full Stride" (Slow Heavy Music Records)

This Austin rock duo makes a cacophonous racket — a heavy blues backbeat with a thunderous bass bottom — on this seven-song EP. The female/male harmonies are a saving grace.

Amber Dickerson slings her six-string like nobody's business throughout the proceedings. Her vocals go from seductress to banshee, while her bass lines flow through you. The songs with her on lead vocals are the best on the disc: the blues dirge "Exposed"; "Hurting"; and the psychedelic rocker "Don't Need You," where she shows off her excellent guitar work amid feedback screech.

When drummer Trent Parker takes over the vocals, the songs possess a very '80s hard-rock feel ("Just Cause"; "Feet on the Ground"). He has a less melodic voice that's harsh with a bark and a bite.

Full Stride shares the stage with Ya Ya Boom Project on Aug. 25 at Burt's Tiki Lounge, 313 Gold Ave. S.W. The Gracchi and Marsupious open the show at 10 p.m. Free. 21 and over. 247-2878 - The Albuquerque Tribune review by Paul Maldonado

"Full Stride and Devola @ Room 710 Nov. 17th 2006"

Room 710 has developed a knack for scheduling magnificent metal showcases fit for any day of the week. On Friday 11/17, the weekend kicks off with some of Austin's finest Southern Rock- stoner metal stalwarts at the Red River establishment. The evening features the barrage that is Full Stride, currently primed to make the grade set by local veterans like Honky and Dixie Witch. No strangers to the Austin metal scene, Amber Dickerson and Trent Parker have made the rounds in a couple of local acts over the years. Southern Gun Culture being an obvious memory. But the duo has successfully settled into Full Stride with the combination of Dickerson's husky vocals and Trent's pounding drum rhythms. The band was a semi finalist in the Zippo Hot Tour's nationwide talent search in 2005, and their latest album "No Looking Back", has generated rave reviews and is a must for all fans of the genre. So come check out the Full Stride's two pronged attack and headbang right into Saturday morning. Five-piece Devola headline the night with their brand of rockin' metal. Supporting is the equally no-holds barred rock of Tea Bag and Ultrawolf. - Whoopsy Magazine Austin 2006

Bio

Full Stride is wide open rock and roll with a tone that is unmistakably full throttle. Amber Dickerson, on guitar, pushes that big sound through both a vintage orange half stack and an Ampeg SVT classic full stack to cover the bottom end. A vehicle with that much power can only be driven with strength and finesse. Trent Parker straps in and commands this ride, cranking out rhythm on his drums as though he had a big block engine floored.

Both Trent and Amber have toured throughout the US with mutiple bands including Southern Gun Culture, Seth James, Collin Gilmore, and Austin Collins from Austin, TX and are known for hardwork in the industry. Full Stride continues to tour around the US constantly spreading their music to all who will listen. Also, The Zippo Hot Tour and The Cabo Wabo Battle of the Bands chose Full Stride in 2005 for their search for new talent. With their new album out co-produced by Omar Vallejo and Full Stride they stand poised to dominate modern rock. They share a musical vision of celebrating life. Having played together for over eight years, they are uncompromising in pursuit of something fresh and new. Bringing sweet folk like vocals over heavy riffs, Amber speaks her mind. With a few comments of his own, Trent is fueled by rock and roll soul. Their radio blasts Black Sabbath, C.O.C., Lenny Kravitz and many others that boldly lay down groove and insight. Make no mistake, this two piece proves less is more.
