The best kept secret in music
Press
What has velvet stripes, a horn section, and more funk than a post-game locker room? You know I'm just talkin' about FUNKENGRUVEN. Northern California's favorite party band takes its fashion cues from Superfly and its ever-rotating song list from the flyest funk and soul acts to shape the Nixon-era music scene. The band's official mission is "the preservation of classis American soul, funk, and R&B music from the 1970's". To that end, FUNKENGRUVEN has devoted uncountable hours to the recreation of hits by artists from Wild Cherry to Chaka Khan to James Brown. As long as they keep feeding the Disco Inferno, the booties of Sacramento will never stop shaking! - Sacramento News & Review (Vol. 13, #51)
