Born and raised in Switzerland (Herzogenbuchsee), until the age of 13 and now living in Italy, Funky Groover has always had a great passion for music, mostly attracted from the UK and USA scene . A long time fan of Elvis Presley but with a great passion for black music in general from funk to soul, blues and jazz.
For a short period Funky Groover played drums and tried to start his own band. In 1991 he entered the DJ world and has never looked back!
Some of his early worked included working at local party’s which he managed quite successfully over a 5 year period as well as his Audio Technician service. In ’97 he felt the need to make a big step that should bring him to the next level and become a professional DJ. It was the time when he started to produce his first tracks and play as resident DJ in clubs. He played italo dance and Techno until he discovered “HOUSE”. With Housemusic he really found himself and big career change. FG does not follow trends or what is popular in the charts. Preferring to play what he loves, mixing the old and the new. This way of playing always brings pleasure to his crowd. Funky Groover is a great lover of vinyl but he likes the new technology too because that helps him in great performances …doesn’t’ matter if he plays for 50 people or 2000 people. Funky Groover is the kind of DJ who gives his best in his sets and this is why he is so popular ...best quality music with no limits ...and people love it.
FG has his own radio show called “House of Groove” which is aired by 65 radio stations in Italy,in Canada, Usa, Spain-Ibiza, Greece, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, Lithuania, Switzerland, Romania, Thailand, Australia and more…
Many of his tunes have been aired by the most important radios in Italy such as Radio Deejay, Italia Network, Disco Radio , Rete 105, Radio M2O and have received great reviews in many specialized magazines.
