Now, let me tell you about Funky Mama.
Krista “Funky Mama” Eyler left her hectic life as an on-air television reporter to embrace motherhood and a life as a singer/songwriter for children.
She created her own Kansas City-based company--Funky Mama Music--to ensure the ears of parents and kids in her life were rescued from noisy, sound-effect driven, purely-pop children’s music.
Funky Mama Music is devoted to creating and performing interactive music for kids ages 1-7 by
blending blues, rock n’ roll, bluegrass, country gospel, funk and fun on her popular CDs ~ "Funky Mama Sings: Giggle Jiggle!" (2005) and "Grandma's House" (2006).
Funky Mama’s voice is unlike any heard in children’s music today. Her power-packed sound has charmed hundreds of kids from Kansas City to the White House. Full of richness and rock, Funky Mama’s music packs a punch and kids love it.
Whether it’s singing about dirty diapers, the beauty of rainbows or jiggling while giggling, Funky Mama makes music an interactive adventure for children and their parents.
Also, Funky Mama has recently released her first children's picture book called "Funky Mama's Grandma's House."
Without any form of representation, distribution, and with little media exposure, Funky Mama has sold nearly 1,200 CDs, done 200 performances, gained nearly 700 clients in Funky Mama Music's first year. Her network of fans and friends is growing quickly in and around the Kansas City area.
Eyler says, “My music is meant to be a shared, fun experience. If toddlers learn to love tunes now, and see their parents enjoying it, too, they’ll love it forever.”
