FUNKY MANTIS
A 4 piece line up from Brisbane/Gold Coast, Australia. Funky Mantis creates the unique sounds of funk grooves transcending into screaming rock energy and it is turning people into crazed Mantis fans everywhere!
Having recently released a debut EP featuring the band’s own cover girl “Rosie” (Penthouse pet of the year 2006) on the cover Funky Mantis have begun to hit the studio again to work on a follow up record.
In 2007 Funky Mantis have compiled their debut film clip to “Funky Mantis”.
Funky Mantis were winners of the Indooroopilly band competition late in 2006, and are currently a part of the Spotlight program run by Catalyst youth arts.
Having ventured to Melbourne and Sydney in 2007 on top of playing sell out shows in their local South-East QLD area, Funky Mantis is becoming a name that will be on everyone’s lips.
