Funky Premier

Funky Premier was founded in 2003 while all the members attended Lake Zurich High School. Growing and learning they eventually evolved into a jazz/funk group consisting of Dom DeJuilio on keyboards, Thomas Bsaibes on drums, Andrew Borniak on bass, and Tony Piecuch on guitar. Strongly influenced by such jazz greats as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Grant Green, their fluency in the roots of the music are deep. Their Funk/Rock influences come from groups like Medeski Martin & Wood, New Mastersounds, and The Meters, this shows how the groove is just as important. They released their first LP “Ballin’ A Cup” in 2009 and an EP summer 2010 of their newest work. Often said to be way ahead of their age group, Funky Premier is a fine oiled machine that can really let loose!
