Bio

The New York City based band "Furley" has been developing a style of music that is quite distinct. They like to call it world fusion because it blends Latin, Afro-pop, Caribbean, funk, jazz, and many other influences into a style that is surely modern jazz and dance music at the same time.
Furley's compositions are unique. They echo jazz song forms with catchy melodies and mature soloing concepts, but that's where the similarity ends. The songs then evolve and take the listener on a journey through different sonic spaces varying tonalities, grooves, and dynamics (not to mention the tasteful use of a huge variety of electronic effects). By the time you return to the original melody (and some songs never do), you've experienced a vision of musical exploration through the eyes of the composers, soloists, and the collective improvisation of the group.
Furley's positively charged line-up begins with bassist Colm Connell and 7-string synth-guitar player Joseph Serrone, who have been playing together for over 10 years. The collaboration with percussionist Vincent Commisso, drummer Ian Katz, and their newest saxophonist Julian Fox, has been ambitious and inspirational for everyone.
With their souls on their sleeves, Furley has been touring the northeast United States playing the main stage at many festivals and frequenting many clubs. They continuously share the stage with great acts like Deep Banana Blackout, Charlie Hunter, Jazz Mandolin Project, and Schleigho. A Band truly appreciated by a steadily growing fan-base, Furley delivers one stellar performance after another and leaves them satisfied every time.
