Judging by the sound of the first cut from Future Punx's Dull Tools debut, they are quite literally trying to make right on their moniker. The self-described "post-wave" is equally hinged on pop-minded, Devo-like synths and the urgent speed of contemporary post-punk. With that in mind, the single "Ever You Go" and its accompanying video evoke a curious nostalgia, like remembering something that hasn't happened yet. It's definitely a trip, but to where or when we're not so sure. Watch the band's hyper-digital video for "Ever You Go" below and purchase their debut LP appropriately titled "This is Post-Wave" when it comes out August 28 from Dull Tools and Berlin's Adaigo 830. Pre-order it here from the Dull Tools Bandcamp. - Noisey
Dull Tools is the record label run by Andrew Savage, of Parquet Courts, and Chris Pickering, of Future Punx. Next month the label will put out the first Future Punx EP, I’m So Inspired, on 11/11. This follows two 7-inches from the synth-centered 5-piece, one of which was a split with Parquet Courts. Sonically, the two bands draw from different corners of the post-punk spectrum, but their attention to intricate lyrics and sprawled-out deadpan deliveries are points of common ground. Along with the announcement of their new release, Future Punx also have a new video for “Spike Train”, a meditation on dreams, perception, and positive thinking. The video is dark and shadowy, with quick-moving bursts of light and color, much like the song itself. Check it out below, along with all upcoming Future Punx dates. - Impose

Bio
Future Punx are a Post-Wave band from Brooklyn, NY, formed in late 2012. In a short amount of time they have earned a reputation as one of NYC’s best live acts. Along with a pleasing aural experience, attention to all aspects of their live presentation (visuals, lights, costumes, etc) has elevated their sets epic proportions. Though Future Punx are very much a New York band, their origins go back to the DIY punk scene of Denton, TX, to associated acts the Wax Museums, Teenage Cool Kids and Fergus & Geronimo. Since relocating to NYC and through their presence as a band and by releasing some of the great new bands from the New York scene on their Dull Tools imprint (Parquet Courts, PC Worship, Pill, Eaters) the gang have become not only musical tastemakers locally but also have the attention of the international music community.
The band have toured the East coast and southern states as well as Puerto Rico and Europe/UK.
