"Demo Submission of Occupy"

The doctor couldn't help but be intrigued by this submission, it's not often we get an explicitly political track in the surgery, let alone one that works melodically too. The doctor could hear elements of a restrained Patti Smith in the vocal delivery, Mid 70s Floyd (especially Roger Waters) in the tracks mood & lyrics and even a faint nod to Robert Fripp in the (lead) guitar playing (one of the doctors faves!), all adding up to a track that has atmosphere in spades. More than this though, it's your ability to create a timeless quality within the track (it could have been released in the 70s/80s/90s or now) that could be your greatest strength. - The Unsigned Guide Doctor

"The soulful Futurejack proving World Music isn't yet dead."

The soulful FutureJack proving that World music isn’t yet dead. With the inspiring mix of both vocal and instrumental talents comes the dazed and eerie track; Thin Disguise.

Beautifully picked guitar and saxophone harmonies both take equal dominance alongside the voices to prove that indeed music should be more about the entire band; not just the front-(wo)man. It seems to fit the surroundings perfectly on this wet, bleak day as you feel a musical trip being induced and begin drifting off into the unconscious. Adventurous percussion stays shy in the background but is by no means lacking any style. Fluctuating between the jazz bass riff’s and dampened cymbals it seems almost haunting, yet delightful to listen to. Brilliantly produced it combines both the warm intimate sounds being craved as well as the grand symphonies needed to drive bands like this forward to the masses. You really could listen to a full album of this style of song and get lost in the sounds you’re hearing and I hope in the future we can get just that.

Bio

Futurejack sounds range across a variety of forested and open terrains and are strongly associated with the presence of drums, bass, guitar, saxaphone and most notably velvet underground voices. Futurejack are largely an opportunistic, stalk-and-ambush predatory band (apex predatory). The band are a keystone species, playing an important role in stabilizing ecosystems and regulating the populations of the audiences it hunts. Futurejack has an exceptionally powerful bite, even relative to the other big cats in the business, allowing it to pierce the shells of the armoured industry whigs and employ an unusual penetration method: it bites directly through the skull of prey to deliver an unfortgettable soundbite between the ears ....

Futurejack utilises lyrics of modern lore substance with influences seeping through from the realms of funk and pop punk.

Dogstar Rose is The Boss, Animal beats the skins, Jonny The Egg Man rocks on the Bass and The Prof majestically basks the Sax.
