"Future Prezidents Give Out Mangoes on Tour to Promote Non-GMO Eating"

You know the old saying; when life gives you 200 mangoes, make a Mango Tour. Right? Anyone? That seems to be the plan for Palm Beach County reggae outfit Future Prezidents. The group happened upon a fruity goldmine in their backyard, and are turning it into a way to spread their crunchy granola message. - NewTimes Broward-Palm Beach County

"Top Five Picks for Local, Beach-Friendly Bands at SunFest 2013"

Click on [+Show] to expand... Q and A with Dana Krangel of The New Times Broward Palm Beach

Q: What does playing Sunfest mean for your band?
A: Playing at SunFest iz both humbling and an honor, we are very grateful. It iz a wonderful platform and opportunity to be heard. Our muzic is written to strike a chord and connect with our audience. Sunfest will bring our message to other Prezidents and hopefully inspire them to get connected and ride the vibe.
.
Q: How have you prepped for this gig differently than others?
A: Mostly, we’ve been trying to give more of ourselvez with each up coming performance leading up to Sunfest. We’re trying to balance between rehearsing for Sunfest, killing at our showz, and recording our first tracks. It will be over before we know it, so we’ve been trying to enjoy all the hard work and preparation.

Q: What was it like when you found out you got the gig?
A: I heard my phone beep in the morning to an email that said “congratulations” we were selected to play Sunfest. I literally jumped out of my bed and then caught myself dancing in the mirror- I kept dancing! I called my bass player Mat right away and at first he didn’t believe me. It was so sudden and in that moment I knew I would get a chance to reach out and share our message with a large crowd, the way the songz were meant to be played.

Q: Why should people that have never seen your band before come early to see you at Sunfest?
A: They should come mostly to have a great time! We really enjoy what we do, and the crowd feelz like an extension of our band. That’s what reggae iz all about, cruising on that perfect reggae wave with your audience. They’ll experience a trip around the world, from our own gritty streets, to election scandalz overseaz, to the controversy over GMO food mogul Monsanto, and back to return to the strugglez of their own hearts. It’s going to be a great time, everyone’z invited, and you’re going to want to secure a nice spot on that comfortable lawn after our show for Jimmy Cliff nice and early. Just don’t forget your sun screen, it is called Sunfest.

Q: Anything else you want to get the word out about?
A: Stay tuned with Future Prez at www.futureprezidents.com , visit our facebook page, and download our smartphone app. to keep up on show dates, media, and our one-love community. Don’t forget a vote for Future Prez. iz also a vote for yourself. We’ll see you on that reggae wave ;) - Dana Krangel with The New Times Broward Palm Beach
