Bilingual (English/Spanish) spoken word artist FyreMouff (say: fire mowf) has been blessed with the opportunities to perform with Chicago’s internationally renowned jazz trumpeter Corey Wilkes and open for soul vocalist Jaguar Wright, FyreMouff is now stepping to the forefront to claim her place among poetic greats such as Ursula Rucker and the legendary Sonia Sanchez. A resident of Chicago’s south side Rosemoor community where she was raised, FyreMouff witnesses the effects of the social ills that led the area to global infamy with the youth violence that has claimed the lives of Derrion Albert, Blair Holt and so many others. Having a mother from Guyana, South America and a father from Hermandale, Missouri provided FyreMouff with a very grounded and holistic environment to grow in despite those surroundings, allowing her to be exposed to humanity’s seamless similarities and gorgeous contrasts. Always seeking to poetically convey the beauty of life to her audience, FyreMouff’s "Multi-Taskin' Overachiever (Baby on my Hip)" is highly requested whenever she performs because people love the story of how the common thread of motherhood ties four very distinct women together.

FyreMouff also use her artistry to speak out against domestic violence across gender lines and help local domestic violence survivors through an annual event that she established in 2006.
