Bio
George SQuared is a dynamic DJ tandem consisting of DJ and emcee George Nkwa "The GON" and DJ, emcee and producer George Davidson "SilkyBlack". George SQuared began their careers in 2009 at CCNY’s student radio station. After meeting, they realized they had more in common than just their first names. Both shared mutual interests in deejaying and music. A friendship greater than The Odd Couple’s Felix and Oscar was formed. The name George SQuared started as a campus joke mocking their close friendship, but it soon became reality when they decided to partner up. With SilkyBlack being an energetic crowd engaging MC and the GON being an innovative DJ, George SQuared set off to entertain the masses.
Since then, George SQuared has evolved their genres of music to include: house, electro, dubstep, reggae, dancehall, soca, R&B, hip hop and reggaeton. They have played at numerous venues around the tri-state area. Notable venues included: S.O.B’s, Public Assembly, Columbia University, The City College of New York, Cornell University, Queens College, Hofstra and Seton Hall. George SQuared has also Deejayed many events for the National Society of Black Engineers (N.S.B.E) including their 2012 national convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The dynamic duo has further evolved by getting into music production. George SQuared uses production to make complex remixes and original instrumentals. G2DJ versatility complements each other and brings a different dynamic, by not only having the ability to tag-team during a live set, but also create great musical content to distribute. George SQuared use their media savvy to increase their growing fan base across social media platforms.
