A mix of many different styles and influences make up the soft, melancholy, rootsy sound of this Singer/Songwriter, who's had success with a recent placement in a movie and is only a step away from more.

Biography

Nearly a decade ago there was a young kid in northwest Ohio playing guitar and writing songs in his basement, waiting for the day when he would explode onto the American music scene. Singer/Songwriter, Gabe Wright, now residing in Cincinnati, OH, is now prepared to do exactly that. Gabe Wright recently achieved the credit cue for his song, “You’re Not Superman,” in the film, “The Third Nail,” starring Huntley Ritter and Charles S. Dutton. And this is just the beginning for the 26-year-old songwriter. Pure, emotional, melancholy melodies coupled with lyrics of personal life and love experiences make up a rollercoaster ride of energy throughout every song.
Gabe Wright started playing guitar and writing songs at age 13. But it wasn’t long before he picked up a bass and some drumsticks and began playing all the instruments he needed to complete his musical visions. After high school Gabe attended Berklee College of Music as a songwriting major and eventually graduated in spring 2004 and promptly relocated to Nashville, TN. Gabe Wright recently released his third full length CD titled, “This Is Life.” “This Is Life” is a melodic rock album that, as usual, Gabe played guitar, bass, drums, keys, and sang. He also engineered and produced the entire CD, which contains the songs, “You’re Not Superman” and “I’m On the Outside,” which is climbing the charts on independent music websites. “This Is Life,” was preceded by two other full length CD’s, “I’m Not Who I Am” and “If No One Knows My Name.” Gabe is currently finishing up writing and recording his next album, which should be released sometime in April or May of 2008.
Throughout his life, Gabe Wright has played in Rock, Metal, and Jazz bands, as well as performing as a solo singer/songwriter, throughout the city of Cincinnati, Northwest Ohio, the New England area, New York city, and Nashville. Gabe has played with musicians from all over the world and was also a faculty member of the National Guitar Workshop, where he has spent his summers for nine years, teaching students from ages 8 to 80 to play guitar, sing, and write songs.
Presently Gabe Wright is working toward getting more of his songs heard and out into the world, as well as playing more venues and reaching more fans. Music is a passion for many of us. For Gabe Wright, it is a way of life.

Lyrics

You're Not Superman

Written By: Gabe Wright

Have you ever felt life stolen from your hands
And you couldn’t make yourself understand the reason why

Have you ever been afraid of the dark
And there was no one there to offer you a spark
To light your way
I know it’s hard, but come what may

CHORUS:
I know you’re strong but you’re not superman
So carry on the best that you can
And don’t give up
Cause someday the sun will rise
And that day you’ll realize you’re free

Well have you ever watched yourself fall apart
And the pieces you don’t know where they are
Or how they fit to make you whole again
Please don’t quit

CHORUS

I know you’re strong but you’re not superman
So carry on the best that you can
And don’t give up

Hope

Written By: Gabe Wright

This worn and dusty coat is all I’ve ever had to protect me from the storm
And it may seem all I need, that is until you know the curse of me
In love it seems the rain is always pouring down on me

So won’t you bring me in out from the cold and warm me by your firelight
Give your kiss to heal my weary soul and let me stay with you tonight
Fix what she has broke, give me hope

This chain around my neck, once a sign of her respect
Is now a noose to a man who is scorned
And if my life was all a book and you took the time to stop and look
You’d see that all the pages are torn or gone

So won’t you bring me in out from the cold and warm me by your firelight
Give your kiss to heal my weary soul and let me stay with you tonight
Fix what she has broke, give me hope

Still I wish there was some way that I could change the past, take it all back
But I just guess I should except it and go start anew, move on
Cause I could be with you, yes I could be with you

If you’d bring me in out from the cold and warm me by your firelight
Give your kiss to heal my weary soul and let me stay with you tonight
Stitch me up with rope
What’s wrong I don’t know
Fix what she has broke, give me hope
