Something Good

Written By: Gabriel Peter Hughes

It's time that I admit I've got some problems
I got here and I don't know what to do
I need somebody else to help me solve them
'Cause I can't stop this if I wanted to

If something good comes out of this
I'm hoping that I will open my eyes to see it
If something good can come out of this
I hope I haven't missed it yet

I get myself into all kinds of trouble
I do the things that I don't want to do
But when it's time to clear out all the rubble
There might be something here worth holding to

If something good comes out of this
I'm hoping that I will open my eyes to see it
If something good can come out of this
I hope I haven't missed it yet

If something good comes out of this
Would I even know if you were to show it to me
If something good can come out of this
I hope I haven't missed it
I hope I haven't missed it yet

A Love Song About a Bus Driver and a Janitor Lady

Written By: Gabriel Peter Hughes

Once upon a time there was
A man who drove a yellow bus
He picked up children every day
And drove them on their merry way

For years he's watched their faces change
But all the children thought him strange
This widowed man and lame old coot
Driving in his same old route

And then one year the budget dove
The school board changed the route he drove
He'd have to pick up different kids
but didn't think that he'd be missed

We're all hanging on you know
Spinning 'round upon this globe
Red and yellow, black and brown
We all bleed when we fall down
Every boy and every girl
Riding on this tilt-a-whirl
Trying to hold out long enough
Sometimes it's a little tough
We're all wanting to be loved

There was a woman at that school
Who swept the floors and cleaned the stools
She walked there almost every day
Until a school bus came her way

The driver opened up the doors
And said "Why don't you climb aboard
You shouldn't walk out in this cold
Where is it you want to go?"

And when she told the driver where
He said, "I'm already going there
I could also drive you home"
And neither of them felt alone

We're all hanging on you know
Spinning 'round upon this globe
Red and yellow, black and brown
We all bleed when we fall down
Every boy and every girl
Riding on this tilt-a-whirl
Trying to hold out long enough
Sometimes it's a little tough
We're all wanting to be loved

Sometimes it's more than we can stand
But there's an even bigger plan
Just like the couple on the bus
We'll find love will come to us

Well that man found his second wife
He promised to love her for life
She had not been wed before
So glad he opened up the door

They rode that bus most every day
The kids would ruckus all the way
But the couple didn't care
They just laughed and talked and shared

Daddy Don't Cry For Me

Written By: Gabriel Peter Hughes

I have been watching you
It seems you have pain you've
Been holding on to
Starting out in the morning
And throughout the day
Telling everyone you're okay

It's going to be alright
No one could have told you
What would happen that night
Now there's no one to finger
And no one to blame
I hope you hear me when I say

Daddy don't cry for me
If you need to find stillness
You know where I'll be
Where the lame learn to walk
And the blind can see
Daddy don't cry for me

Don't close your eyes, dry your tears
See how much life is
Still happening here
From the birth of a newborn
To the death of the old
Are the mysteries yet to unfold

Daddy don't cry for me
If you need to find stillness
You know where I'll be
Where the lame learn to walk
And the blind can see
Daddy don't cry for me

Nothing can ever be sure
We've already been given
More than we deserve
But if there's one thing for certain
You can know in your heart
I am safe here in Jesus' arms

Daddy don't cry for me
If you need to find stillness
You know where I'll be
Where the lame learn to walk
And the blind can see
Daddy don't cry for me

Rebecca (Such a Girl)

Written By: Gabriel Peter Hughes

Rebecca's in love
And he's in love with her
I know because I see it in her eyes
And that's more than enough
And he is more than sure
I know because I see it in her life

Such a girl
I was born to believe in
Such a girl
I have been waiting for
I could search the deepest ocean
And never find a better pearl
I was destined to fall in love
With such a girl

Rebecca's a mother
She lives a life that pleases
And wants to hear whatever's on your mind
She loves like no other
I heard her talk to Jesus
And everybody says she's quite a find

Such a girl
I was born to believe in
Such a girl
I have been hoping for
I could search the deepest ocean
And never find a better pearl
I was destined to fall in love
With such a girl

Blessed is he who believes and has not seen
I believe she is the girl of my dreams
There is a melody that is waiting to be heard
I'm waiting for here
Because I know that she is

Such a girl
I was born to believe in
Such a girl
I have been praying for
I could search the deepest ocean
And never find a better pearl
I was destined to fall in love
With such a girl
