Bio
Gabriel Rivera is an accomplished singer-songwriter/worship leader who has written, recorded, and performed music since he first learned to play the guitar in 1994. Gabriel’s most recent release, a limited edition 3-Song EP (only 100 were printed for a 2009 Summer Tour), is a preview of his forthcoming debut album which is a collection of songs that he has been crafting for the past 10 years.
In 2006, he made his feature film debut with a cameo in Ethan Hawke’s, "The Hottest State", guitar-in-hand. Currently, he co-stars in Ilana Lapid’s, "Red Mesa", an award winning 35mm short film in which he plays the role of Octavio. (The film is now eligible for OSCAR® nomination in 2011-best live action short category.)
This summer Gabriel will be promoting the independent film, "Ilegales" (www.ilegalesthemovie.com), in which he plays the supporting role of Sancho. Also, he is slated to co-star in, "Red Sands" an NYU thesis film scheduled for production in June 2010.
With a slew of radio and television appearances under his belt, Gabriel has established himself as an independent artist poised for success on the national stage.
He currently serves as the Liturgical Music Director for St. Michael's Parish at Fort Bliss, a military installation, as well as Music Director for the Life Teen Band at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, both in El Paso, TX.
