It was the arrangements that hooked me. The chords and melodies were clearly that of an educated musician, but the changes and obscure vocals showed a maturation process, a man twice his age could only hope for.

Bio
Gacktatter began as a funk/rock experiment called Dr. G And The Funky Recovery, led by Evan Gackstatter in 2006 in Seattle, WA. This initial style explored genres of jazz, funk, rock, soul and r&b. Dr. G's only recording, Dr. Demo, featuring "Lunar Legacy, "Airplanes and Serial Killers", "One Winged Rocket" and "Phunky Disaster" was recorded by David Thomson at SoulSound Audio (soulsoundaudio.com) and can be heard at myspace.com/drgandthefunkyrecovery.
In early 2008 after Dr. Demo, two music videos, many performances and competitions Evan Gackstatter decided to slim down the instrumentation to a trio format that would lend itself to a more organic and progressive style of rock. After being introduced to drummer, Nathan Taylor by Seattle bassist, Tim Carey the band was set and the name changed, GACKSTATTER. In March 2010 the band's first full length album, OneWingRocket was released.
Gackstatter's journey continues with new ideas, sounds, styles, film scoring and much more.
