Gadget is a rock mama of the first order.
Imagine Lone Justice marrying Sheryl Crow (playing around with Sass Jordan on the side) and you'll have some idea of what's going on here.
As a songwriter, everything is penned on Gadgets heartfelt sleeve. A rather smooth sandpaper voice helped out by backing vocals from Dana Starr and drummer Billy Baxter. In addition to performing with her full band, she and guitarist Dana Starr perform as a duo. This gives Dana the opportunity to showcase her amazing voice as well.
In addition to questions about her influences. She is often asked how she got her name. The answer, "My Grandfather gave me the nickname while I was still in the womb". It stuck
Fast forward to age 18. Fresh out of high school, she joined the Navy. Upon completing her four year stint, she moved to Washington, DC. There she fronted various cover bands. She taught herself to play guitar and soon discovered she had a talent for writing.
1995, Gadget set off to record her first self titled CD Gadget White at Lodge Studios in Indiana.
2001, she and her band released Serious Butterflies, Whites second CD. By this time, she and her bands dynamic live performances had earned them a respectable following that grew with each performance.
2004, Gadget moved from the nations capital to the music capital, Austin, TX. She now resides in Houston.
In addition to having her songs placed in film and Television, Gadget has contributed songs to six compilation Cd's including a Paul McCartney & Wings Tribute CD entitled Coming Up/Listen To What The Man Says. It includes tracks from Bare Naked Ladies, The Pretenders, Semisonic & Matthew Sweet.
Gadget has toured with Bad Company and has opened for Joan Jett, Johnny Winter, Eddie Money and Nazareth, Big Brother & The Holding Company, Steppenwolf, Patti Griffin, Sarah Bettens and David Lee Roth.
Second stage support for REO Speedwagon, Styx, Journey, Foreigner and Chicago.
