Gail Jhonson

Gail Jhonson

BandJazzFunk

Smooth jazz with a feminine touch!

Biography

When she performed onstage and in the studio with Smooth Jazz guitarist Norman Brown, she was known as Gail Johnson. Now, Brown’s musical director and pianist – who has also performed with the likes of Bobby Lyle, Dave Koz, Paul Jackson Jr. and Howard Hewitt – has released her very own Smooth Jazz album under her new stage name. Although Gail's last name is still pronounced “Johnson,” she’s changed the spelling for the record to J-H-O-N-S-O-N. A way to give the artist some originality. The Philadelphia native and Berklee graduate, is currently working at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California. Meanwhile, Gail's new album, called “Keep The Music Playing,” is now available on www.cdbaby.com. It includes 12 songs, incuding covers of “I’ll Be Around” and “How Do You Keep The Music Playing?”
