"Being originally from Scotland, I think the Celtic influence is strong in my blood; a tendency towards sweeping melodies and bittersweet emotion. What is my music? Songs I write with my guitar. I've been playing since I was small. I try to write from the heart and try to say something about living this life that isn't just pretty words put together. Some of my influences are: Bonnie Raitt, Shawn Colvin, Aimee Mann, Cheryl Crowe... Off the beaten path: Nina Rota, Sam Phillips, and my producer Kirk Adams. I have played many places, many styles of music, sung a million covers, all of which have added to my library of influences.
My voice isn't perfect, I wouldn't want it to be, but I hope it captures and passes along all the emotion of whatever song it is I'm doing.
