Bio

A trio of gals from Charlotte, North Carolina, GalFriday describe themselves as “sisters raised on daddy’s bluegrass and momma’s hymn book". Lauren Wilson, Melissa York, and Ashley Min have cut their teeth performing live for the past 8 years, wowing crowds with killer live performances and a Carolina flavor you can’t get enough of. Their current project Bluegrass & Grit, due out in October 2012, is an irreverent marriage of country, southern rock, and newgrass. Steel guitar, banjo, slide and fiddle dance through tunes like “Southern Wind” and wrap themselves up in a three-part harmony that gets to your soul and gives it a thump. These sisters write from experience, hopes, love, fiction, and a little bit of rebellion, and their songs give that bridled, rebel chick in all of us a big ol’ voice and a reason to shout!

highlights:

They worked with Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith in the studio producing 2 songs on a compilation cd.
