"The Maryland Doomfest Vol. 1: Beerdrinkers & Hellraisers"

Later in the weekend Gallowglas ratchet up the carnage a thousandfold and send Café 611 down a dangeroud path of no return, their wrath blowing the roof clean off this joint as this mob reduce what little is left to rubble. Ho-ly shit! J William Heitmann is unstoppable in his wreckless disregard for our necks, commanding his Penn State wrecking crew to pull no punches and destroy everything in sight, and raising all hell with pit-inducing hits Imprint, Repeater, and Thousands of Punctures. No pits were generated in the mayhem but you can bet your ass the Monday morning would have blessed many of us with a few broken necks if none are already! The adrenaline pumping, the desire to fuck shit up, and a preeminent chieftan to lead the charge? This is just an average Sunday, right? - The Motorfuzzin' Ibex

"Chameleon Club"

"McGarvey's"

"York’s Gallowglas finished the night with their demonstration of furious power metal. Lead snarler J. William Heitmann, guitarists Don Belch and Brian Faychak, bassist Duy Loufik and drummer Brian Durost brought the ruckus with their mix of rage, intensity and precision. The group did several numbers off their EP “Let The Fire Dine,” including “43 Gods” and “Declivity,” as well a few other original numbers. J. William displayed the feral rage, while Don showed amazing precision on tense guitar riffs and solo work. It was impressive power metal brutality that kept onlookers riveted and cheering."

Bio

Gallowglas is a PA based American Metal band that formed in the spring of 2018 when J. William Heitmann (vox), and Don Belch (guitar), both formally of Ninetail, rekindled their partnership after a six year hiatus. J, and Don along with Brian Faychak (guitar) began the writing process while searching for the right talent to round out the band. After a long, arduous pursuit for the right musicians, the original trio were happy to announce the addition of Brian Durost (percussion) formally of Burning the Hospice, and Duy Loufik (bass). The group wasted no time and got into the studio, recording their debut EP titled Let the Fire Dine, which was independently released on all major music platforms in May of 2019.

To date, Gallowglas has gained respect in their own backyard while playing many local venues, but are looking to expand their territory to bolster exposure and drive up demand. In their short time on the circuit, the band has shared the stage with industry titans such as All That Remains, Unearth, Flaw, Green Jelly, and Anthrophobia. Their versatility within any line-up is noteworthy as they are able to play to many different crowds.

Gallowglas' stage presence is undeniable and has been described by the music media as "feral" and "precise". Heitmann's lyrics have been labeled "crucial" as he howls of institutional failure, historical figures, and theories of the afterlife among other spirited subject matter. They take the stage with a purpose no matter the crowd size or level of participation. Whoever stands before them will witness a gut-wrenching, all-out performance sure to make a lasting impression.

Gallowglas were nominated for "Best Metal Act", and their EP Let the Fire Dine nominated for "Album of the Year" by the Central PA Music Hall of Fame in 2020. Their sophomore effort "Revelator" was released on New Years Eve 2021, and they have been supporting the release with live performances across the region.
