GaNgLy MoOsE hails from Fairbanks, Alaska and is wildly popular as the best jam band in the entire state of Alaska. For the past thirteen years their original funky groovin tunes have brought crowds to a shaking, sweating pandemonium. GaNgLy MoOsE has even been mentioned in the Lonely Planet Guide to Alaska as the Alaskan band you don't want to miss while you're here.
The original GaNgLy MoOsE groove is not really limited to a particular style of music. The MoOsE rocks, funks, boogies, polkas, and even completely loses the bass in exchange for an occasional electric mandolin bluegrass cameo.
GaNgLy MoOsE original tunes range far and wide in both style and content. Rumor has it that the classic crowd favorite, Johnny Dont Have to Work, is actually the rally tune for the US Para-Olympic soccer team. Bands covered by the MoOsE provide a good indication of the diversity of the MoOsE style. Parliament, Bob Dylan, Black Sabbath, The Greatful Dead and Johnny Cash are a good sampling.
Although the MoOsE primarily sticks close to home, rocking the limited but fertile road system in Alaska, they have ventured Outside several times for migratory tours in California (2003), Colorado and Hawaii (2006).
The extreme lifestyle of the last frontier has helped to create in GaNgLy MoOsE a rocknroll band of extreme energy and vitality. A MoOsE show is characterized by thick, heavy, bass lines, screaming hot guitar leads and tons of drum jams. Dancing is not usually optional it just happens.
