"celand Airwaves: Day One – Snorri Helgason, Love & Fog, Gang Related and The Foreign Resort"

Following Love & Fog was the band I’ve been most anticipating: Gang Related. I’ve described them to friends as the Icelandic Surfer Blood with sprinkles of Black Lips and Wavves in the mix. This band of Icelandic heart throbs look more like J. Crew models than the lo-fi rockers that they are, which somehow just adds to the appeal for me. Gang Related took advantage of their first Iceland Airwaves 2012 gig to try out a new song, “One in a Million.” The song was a beach rock anthem that was incredibly well received by the crowd inspiring more than one raucous fan to vigorously wave their beer around, moistening fellow audience members.

"Iceland Airwaves: Day One Recap (Live review)"

Gang Related, an Icelandic indie-pop band making sounds that are reminiscent of Oberhofer and The Futureheads, played an engaging set of jerky rhythms and three-chord ballads across the street at Amsterdam. - http://www.pastemagazine.com/

"A Grab-bag of guitar rock (live review)"

My brother noted that every song by Gang Related seemed to be written by a dude about to break up with his girl, in the midst of a breakup, or recovering from one. The band wrapped that heartache in harmonies; even better, they mixed tight professionalism with a welcome whiff of gruff, garage-y propulsion, rocking as well as aching - The Reykjavik Grapevine
