Garagista

"Garagista" is Italian slang for someone who makes wine, literally or figuratively, in his (or her) own garage. It’s a labor of love – infused with passion and homemade flavor. The garagista is a craftsman whose work can often rival the output of the largest producers.

With a vast array of cool new technologies, the music world is giving birth to thousands of its own garagista-style artists. Artists everywhere can now make great music, more-or-less at home, and release it to the wider world.

Our mission is to find all kinds of great “home grown” music and bring it to a musically-adventuresome audience. After all, just because you can make good music doesn’t mean many people will actually hear it. It’s our job to help both artists and listeners “cut through the clutter” in a very crowded marketplace, so the good stuff gets heard.

We started in our own backyard, New York’s Hudson Rivertowns, an area with a rich artistic heritage. We’re now adding music from all over the world, since the garagista ethic knows no boundaries.
