Gardenias

As a visitor faces a multicolored Latin American village, the audience witnesses the sound of Gardenias. A shameless disrespect for rigid traditions and a playful blend of styles ornament the folkloric lyrics of the band, building each show as a unique trip to the unknown world of Latin American Rock. You can see the pleasure in the face of each and every band member as they perform their own material with a new twist at each show.

Formed in Toronto in 2003, Gardenias has been playing in Toronto�s top venues ever since. Initially focused on the Latin scene, their audiences have expanded to include people from all cultures. The diverse crowds that flock to legendary establishments like the Horseshoe Tavern, Healey�s and Lee�s Palace have enjoyed the sounds of Gardenias. Gardenias has also been responsible for organizing a series of Latin American events in Toronto. The combination of Latin beats and traditional Latin American instruments with classic rock guitar sounds makes the music of Gardenias appealing to more than just Spanish speakers.

The band was a finalist in the Toronto Independent Music Awards world music category in 2006 and they have played with world famous Latin American artists such as Rosita Stone. They have been and continue to lend their support to numerous charity events including the upcoming �Manos Unidas�.

Their first EP was release under the guidance of Pat Riccio Jr. (Keyboardist for Anne Murray) in 2004 and their first album will be released in 2007.
