Songs of Woods, Rock and Water, composed by Gareth L. Cook, is a series of seven pieces commissioned by the La Ronge Arts Council to celebrate Northern Saskatchewan. This is a recording of a concert performed by the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra String Quartet. The CD was produced by the La Ronge Arts Council and released in January, 2008. See pdf of News Release under "Basic Requirements". For the Western Canadian Music Awards, we are submitting the entire suite of seven songs in the category of "Outstanding Classical Composition", not just the first piece, "Voyageurs". Sonicbids would not permit the uploading of the entire composition as one large mp3 file, however, all seven pieces are included in the EPK.
In addition, the remaining tracks have been uploaded to fulfill the submission requirement of the entire album.
