The best kept secret in music

"Taplas Magazine, Wales"

…Cwmbran based guitarist Gareth Pearson is already being labeled a
prodigy by some, has guitar maestro Tommy Emmanuel as a mentor and
can count the likes of Ray Davies, Albert Lee, Andy McKee, John
Renbourn, Stefan Grossman, John Stropes and Jan Akkerman among
others, as his growing list of music business fans and mates. - Phil Thomas

"Trowbridge Festival"

…An amazing performance by Gareth Pearson from Wales. When he
supported Jan Akkerman recently, Jan called him a genius. Pearson
didn’t disappoint, treating his audience to an insight on his techniques,
in between playing the bass notes with his nose and frenetic fretboard
work I haven’t seen since Rory Gallagher back in the day. Unlike Rory,
his fingers didn’t bleed, but our hearts did when he stopped playing. - BBC Wiltshire

"Lifestyle Magazine, Wales"

…Pearson put on an astonishing performance, adeptly delivering a
surprisingly mature treatment of material from the greats of
instrumental guitar. This enthusiastic young guitarist is doing things
players twice his age can only dream of being able to do. Material like
what Gareth plays is not normally within the grasp of a player his age. A
good portion of his show was given over to his own compositions and
arrangements, that also serve to showcase an enthusiasm and musical
intuition well beyond his years. - Sean Lightholder

"England"

…For one who has been playing the guitar only a few years, Pearson
showed an ability, repertoire and stage presence one would expect from
a guitarist three times his age. Gareth Pearson is a name which will
soon be used as a standard for solo guitarists to aspire to. His skill,
enthusiasm, wit and charm won over an appreciative and
knowledgeable audience… It is however his own compositions which
will raise him to a position at the forefront of guitarists for years to
come. His CD featuring a number of these is a must for enthusiasts. - Formby Times, England

"Irish News"

…When I tried to learn guitar it took me about 4 years before I could
stumble through Gloria. When Gareth Pearson learned the guitar, it took
him about the same length of time to be regarded as one of the greatest
acoustic guitarists in the world… - Trevor Hodgett,

"Cambridgeshire"

…Every year I leave the Ely Folk Festival with an act stuck in my
memory that I’ve been absolutely delighted to have been introduced to.
This year it was acoustic guitar player Gareth Pearson. Nothing
prepared me for his live act… This charismatic 18 year-old plays a
mixture of covers and his own superb compositions… He had the
audience in the palm of his hand. - Ely Folk Festival Review,

"Isle of Man Newspaper"

…Gareth Pearson is a different kind of performer altogether. There was
seemingly nothing he couldn’t do with his acoustic guitar… His mastery
of the instrument is at the level of a genius. One of the most remarkable
things I have ever seen on the guitar was his phenomenal rendition of
The Jackson Five’s classic I Want You Back, in which he seemed to play
every part simultaneously… He clearly loves the music he performs and
he deservedly received a rapturous response from the audience. - John Gregory,

"Acoustic Magazine, UK"

…Prodigiously talented Gareth Pearson is barely out of his teens but
he’s already a rising star of fingerstyle country and bluegrass. Having
only just begun playing the instrument from recent times, he has
developed a distinctive style and execution to his playing that has
earned him the greatest accolades from world renowned players. In
only a few years he has grown from a relatively unknown guitar
appreciator to a fully fledged professional who now performs in many
parts of the world. - Acoustic Magazine, UK
