Garrett Suzelis

I am a composer, musician, and recording studio engineer. I have spent the last few years as a Psychology major and Music major at Naropa University. All of the music on this profile has been written, engineered and recorded by myself, with the aid of many many studio musicians including:
Bill Douglas (jazz composer and pianist), Janet Feder (avant-garde prepared guitar), Jesse Detwiler ( Cellist for portland group "Strangers Die Everyday") and so many many more. It's been a pretty crazy trip getting to this point. My roots are in rock, but I am a trained fingerstyle guitarist as well as classical guitarist. I enjoy all forms of music which gives me a large pallet of experience to draw from. My style can range from brutal death metal, to whimsical string arrangements or step into jazz of the 1920's... but everything on acoustic instruments, and everything with a tinge of meloncholy. I am a huge Tom Waits fan, as well as Rasputina, Blonde Redhead, the Books, radiohead, Origin, Duke Elliington, Miles Davis, Beck, Daughters, The Decemberists, Tool, Folk, bluegrass, metal, death metal, jazz, indie, rock, avant-garde, classical, fingerstyle, noise, and sound. Everything is equally incredible, melody and dissonance are are like fueding brothers who at times can enjoy each other's company.
