Garuda's Mission

Garuda's mission is not your typical heavy metal outfit. The dynamic and progressive song writing has a unique ability to incorporate elements of many different musical styles and genres without straying from a hard hitting, dark and epic sound that is like no other. The four band members, Brooks Schaper-bass, Chris Finster-guitar/vocals, Erik Scholibo-keys, Jackson Coffey-drums, are all self taught musicians with no formal musical training. However, all members have extensive musical backgrounds of past and current involvement with a wide variety of projects, from several music genres. Garuda's Mission has a wide range of influences that include; Tool, Megadeth, Dream Theatre, Opeth, Neurosis, Sound Garden, Nirvana, The Beatles, and Mozart. All the band members grew up and currently reside in Portland Oregon. They have been writing music and throwing it down in front of audiences around the Pacific Northwest since 2002. In 2004 Garuda's Mission recorded and self released their first full-length album, "Omen in Onyx", which is available for purchase online at www.garudasmission.com. They are currently working on their second album.
