BandCountryFolk

I'm a songwriter who sings. I am interested in having others perform my music that ranges from Country to folk to old-fashioned Rock. I've got a little blues influence and a touch of Bowie. I can write in most any style and my lyrics are what really make my songs special and different.

Biography

I started writing songs when I was thirteen and only knew about 4 chords. I've written lyrics for broadway type musicals that have been produced in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Lyrics

Gentleman Jack

Written By: Gary B Lamb

When you up and left me that cold winter night, said “this time I ain’t comin’ back”
I felt no remorse, no moral wrong or right when I called on my old friend Jack
Jack you’re smooth and dark, you make me forget about my troubles
You warm my heart and you touch me just right
You’re always there when my life turns to rubble
And you help me to sleep at night

You come when I need you and you leave when I say
You’re the best man I’ve ever had
You listen to my problems but you don’t say a word
You just comfort me so it don’t seem so bad
Gentleman Jack I think I love you
Every time my man walks out that door
You’re the only man I trust, you are always true blue
The man I picked up at the corner store

I know it’s down-right wrong that I treat you unkind, when I’m fine I send you to pack
But have no regrets you’re always on my mind and you’ll always be my old friend Jack
Jack your strong yet sweet, you make me snuggle up all cuddled
In my chair when I’m feeling your touch
You’re always there and your loving hand is subtle
Putting me to bed when I’ve had too much

You come when I need you and you leave when I say
You’re the best man I’ve ever had
You listen to my problems but you don’t say a word
You just comfort me so it don’t seem so bad
Gentleman Jack I think I love you
Every time my man walks out that door
You’re the only man I trust, you are always true blue
The man I picked up at the corner store

Well I found someone new I think could be the one
And you know this affair was just for fun
I’m sorry but it’s time that we must part
‘Till the next time someone breaks my heart

You come when I need you and you leave when I say
You’re the best man I’ve ever had
You listen to my problems but you don’t say a word
You just comfort me so it don’t seem so bad
Gentleman Jack I think I love you
Every time my man walks out that door
You’re the only man I trust, you are always true blue
The man I picked up at the corner store
The man I picked up at the corner store
The man I picked up at the corner store
