Bio

Gary won 1st place in the London and area Senior Star competition in July 2010. Gary Boyle has been called "Canada's Country Balladeer" and has played for over 25 years in all parts of Canada, and more recently several times in Australia. His newest CD entitled "Back to Back" was very well received in Australia, especially in Tamworth and Whittlesea.

His C.D. "Country at Heart" was selected for the 2004 JUNO Awards in the Country category. He was also entered in 2002 in the JUNO Awards in the Male Vocalist category.

Gary has been fortunate enough to play at Roy Thomson Hall as part of a variety show (seats 3500 and show was sold-out) in Toronto for the Royal Bank of Canada Seniors Jubilee in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He has played in Michigan with the likes of Jack Greene and Ronnie Stoneman (Hee-Haw fame) and Jett Williams, the daughter of Hank Williams, Sr. In Australia he was on shows with Graham Rodger, The Sunny Cowgirls, and more.

He performs as a single act, a duo and as a full band. He has played many fairs, festivals, private corporate functions and theatre-type venues. He was the main character in a theatrical production of "Wagon Train" for one complete season.

He has 5 recordings available, all being very successful. In his recording, Country at Heart, two additional musicians from the band "Blue Rodeo", being the piano player and trumpet player, embelished the songs to bring them to a level really enjoyed by everyone.

His CD "Now I Know", includes 6 original songs, one being The River and Me which was featured during the Thames River Celebrations in London, Ontario, Canada. Two of the other songs on this CD were ones made famous by the legendary Slim Dusty in Australia.

His country crooner type sound reflects the songs of the country and folk balladeers, i.e. Jim Reeves, John Denver, Eddie Arnold, Burl Ives, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Sr., and Ian Tyson, along with Gary's own original material. His band has very strong harmonies and instrumentation. They provide a strong visual presentation on stage and relate extremely well to the audience.

Gary Boyle has a smooth, strong and mellow voice that keeps people coming back time and time again to his concerts and shows.

Gary was nominated in the 2004 Canadian Independent Music Awards.
