Bio

Gary is not only a talented singer/songwriter he also plays guitar and drums. Many people compare him to Toby Keith because of the way he looks, sings and goes a little bit against the grain but Gary has a style all his own when it comes to his music. His strong vocals and performance on stage captivates his audience of all ages.

He grew up in Glen Burnie, Md but his roots are in Virginia. His grandmother lived across the street from the Statler Brothers complex where he sat on the porch, watched, listened and dreamed that one day he would be like them. He grew up listening to his father, family and friends playing back porch bluegrass and country music. His dad taught him how to play the guitar and gave him his love of music which was in his blood all along. During his school years he played stand up bass, drums, and baritone horn with the school band. Gary's love of music and performing on stage led him to playing with bands in the local bars and nightclubs. The original Deuces Wild Band began in 1992 and in 1993 Danny Koenig became part of the group on lead guitar and they are still playing together today.

Gary has always dabbled in writing his own songs but when his father passed away in 2004 his writing became much more serious when he wrote "Dad's Song", a tribute to his father. When he started playing this song at the gigs it touched people in a way he never dreamed and so the songwriting has grown from there. He is now working on his first cd which will be available later this year. Gary's patriotic promotional song "Stand Up" has been passed out to hundreds of people and due to the overwhelming response of this song it has been sent to Iraq for our soldiers to hear.

Gary's influences that you might hear in his music are from all genres including southern rock, blues, and traditional country. Some of his favorite artist include Flatt and Scruggs, Ronnie Milsap, John Cougar, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Garth Brooks and Travis Tritt to name a few.
