21 DAYS

Written By: GARY PROCYSHYN

21 DAYS

Southern shores are waiting
In this February chill
My heart needs time for breaking
I’ve got 21 days to kill
I’ve got 21 days to kill

I try to shed these feelings
While I think about her still
The pain is slowly peeling
I’ve got 21 days to kill
It will be 21 days of hell

When I get there
I will breathe
My heart will ask her
Will you please leave
Will you please leave

Southern shores are waiting
In this February chill
My heart needs time for breaking
I’ve got 21 days to kill
I’ve got 21 days to kill
I’ve got 21 days to kill
I’ve got 21 days to kill
I’ve got 21 days
I’ve got 21 days

YOUR MIND IS WHITE

Written By: GARY PROCYSHYN

YOUR MIND IS WHITE

Your blank eyes stare right through me
A million questions try my mind
The cloud your on is so confusing
Your explanations leave me blind

I cant read you
Your mind is white

I watch the steam escape your coffee
There’s trouble brewing dead ahead
Mood swings have always kicked me
Off my ass and out of bed

I cant read you
Your mind is white

Please tell me where I can find
The real story inside your life

You’re like a series of scary stories
Monsters and verbal shhhhhhhit
Mood swings are Steven king gory
Something creepy ate the print

I cant read you
Your mind is white
I cant read you
Your mind is white
I cant read you
Your mind is white
Your mind is white

NEW AVENUE

Written By: GARY PROCYSHYN

NEW AVENUE

Driving in the sun no one at my side
Alone feels fine alones all right
I’m refelective in my rear view mirror of life

My gasoline is burning on a different point of view
My life is perfect if I don’t run in to you

My music’s on I’m singing out loud
I’m driving slow I’m nowhere bound
My mind is empty as I throw away all vows

My gasoline is burning down different avenue
My life is better if I don’t bump in to you

I’ve had a ride or two
Every time I’ve run out of gas
If I see a wave from you
I’ve decided to drive right past
(don’t wanna fix another flat)
(another flat)

…Driving in the dark I see a new light
Alone I go see what I find

Shiny wheels are turning on a brand new avenue
My life is better if I never run into you

My gasoline is burning down a brand new avenue
My life is perfect if I don’t run
In
To
You

IN THE TIME THAT MATTERS

Written By: GARY PROCYSHYN

IN THE TIME THAT MATTERS

I’ll sing you songs forever
While you smile back to me
I’ll hold you close and whisper
Thank You for Loving ME

In the time that matters
You know what to say
Within you there's an answer

I’ll write you word reminders
Of how our Love began
All the memories behind us
All the good times that we had

In the time that matters
You know what to say
Let me know the answer
While our hearts are young and brave
While our hearts are young and brave

Wishes never matter
When time takes them away
So say yes when I ask you
Will you spend your life with me

In the time that matters (Be my Love)
You know what to say (Be my Love)
Let me know the answer
While our hearts are young and brave

(Be my Love) In the time that matters
(Be my Love) You'll know what to say
Within you there's an answer
While our hearts are young and brave

CHOICES

Written By: GARY PROCYSHYN

CHOICES

Those small town eyes burn holes in her pride at 3 months
They’re laughing at school and she knows her future is blown
The bulge in her dress and the fear in her eyes don’t conceal much

She asks herself how could this happen
Too young to do this alone

She’ll say when anyone asks her
She’s brave but growing in fear
She struggles to find the right answer
Keep him or let him go
All she knows
She’s all alone

She suddenly cries when somebody pries into her choice
Three years have past and everything living has grown

She’ll ask herself over and over
Could she have done this alone

She’ll say when anyone asks her
She’s brave but lives with her tears
She may never know the whole story
Only knows where it began
And she’ll pray
She’ll see him again

She’ll say when anyone asks her
Was she brave or running in fear
Asks herself over and over
Could she have done it alone
She’ll find the answer
If he ever comes home

BEFORE I LET GO (My Daughter's Wedding)

Written By: GARY PROCYSHYN

BEFORE I LET GO (My Daughter's Wedding)

She’s twirling around in her play dress
White shimmering six year old dreams
A cascade of fairytales, weddings and princes
Pretending she giggles with me

Take my hand for this first dance my dear
I’m the proudest Dad in the world
Your wedding day waltz will one day be here
Before I let go I want you to know
You will always be my little girl

She’s sailing on in her friendships
Bright radiant glow in her smile
A whirlwind from grade school to grown up in minutes
Today she will walk down the aisle

Take my hand and I’ll give you away
I’m the proudest Dad in the world
We’ll walk down the aisle on your biggest day
Before I let go I want you to know
You will always be my little girl

Take my hand for this first dance my dear
I’m the proudest Dad in the world
Your wedding day waltz is finally here
Before I let go I want you to know
You will always be my little girl

Hold my hand for this first dance my dear
I’m the proudest Dad in the world
Before I let go I want you to know
I Love You…
Don’t ever let go

CLOSED EYELIDS

Written By: GARY PROCYSHYN

CLOSED EYELIDS

I stare up through closed eyelids
Wondering if you’re looking down at me
You caress and work my skin
Slightly more than professionally

In my mind you will find
These thoughts are trying to hide
There are things you could do
To turn this table on for two
Turn it on for two

You grin through closed eyelids
Naked except for one old patient sheet
I slyly rub your skin
Your will is stretching vulnerably

Your smile is living proof
My touch not enough for you
There are things I want you to do
To turn this table on for two
Turn it on for two
Do those things you do

Lower yourself down gently
Put your arms around me
And we’ll kiss

With closed eyelids
Oh we will kiss
Closed eyelids
Oh we will kiss
With closed eyelids
Oh Ooh we will kiss
with closed eyelids

WHEN MY DAD WAS 40

Written By: GARY PROCYSHYN

WHEN MY DAD WAS 40

When my dad was 40 he was napping on the couch
When my dad was 40 I remember laughing out loud
When my dad was 40 he was worried bout the bills
I remember thinking he was way over the hill

My own middle age is getting nearer
I still see a kid when I look in the mirror

When my dad was 40 this smart ass knew it all
When my dad was 40 he was starting to go bald
When my dad was 40 his belly started stretching out
I thought it was hysterical his big toe flared up with gout

My own middle age is getting nearer
I still see a kid when I look in the mirror

Sandals, black sox
My favorite gitch got a hole in the crotch
Stay home, don’t walk
After work I’m gonna pour a double scotch
I’ll doze allot
Another 40 years and I’ll probably drop

Can’t believe I’m 40 I’m napping on the couch
Can’t believe I’m 40 my kids are laughing out loud
Holy crap I’m 40 my hair is falling out
I’m finding wrinkles in the mirror my Dad’s laughing now

Can’t believe I’m 40
Hard to believe I’m 40

Grandpa's Treasure

Written By: Gary Procyshyn

GRANDPA’S TREASURE

Grandpa spoke of treasure once in ‘73
Hiding in that rocky soil, those poor Petlura fields
One day you may find it, you’ll have to look real hard
I was just a wild-eyed boy that day on Grandpa’s farm

Every single visit I’d turn up new ground
He’d shine a smile on me when nothing would be found
One day you will find it, Its really not that far
Every year this bright eyed boy kept searchin Grandpa’s farm

Chicken coupe and grain bins, that big ol’ dusty barn
That little orange tractor, Grandpa’s old red car
Gold prairies, green pastures, underneath the yard
I could not find the treasure out on Grandpa’s farm

He plowed those fields one last time, 1979
For all those years he wiped a tear, time to retire
He said today I’ll help you find it, he took me by the arm
Its everywhere you silly boy, its right here where we are

My chicken coupe and pigpen, that big ol’ dusty barn
My little orange tractor, how I love that ol’ red car
The prairies, the laughter, all the grandkids in the yard
This has always been my treasure out on Grandpa’s farm

So many memories hiding in that big ol’ dusty barn
That little orange tractor, Grandpa’s old red car
The holidays we gathered, our whole family in the yard
I finally found the treasure out on Grandpa’s farm
I finally found the treasure out on Grandpa’s farm
I finally found the treasure out on Grandpa’s farm
Out on Grandpa’s farm

The Hit That Got Away

Written By: Gary Procyshyn

THE HIT THAT GOT AWAY

Woke up with a big hit on my mind
Been a while since any song would bite
I’m trollin… they like to hide
A hit like this is getting hard to find

The biggest rhyme and harmony
Mother of all melodies
Master of simplicity
Slipped away from me

Almost had my trophy hit today
Jiggled all the lines that came my way
Swimmin toward my hook and only played
Nibbled on my brain and swam away

A better rhyme and harmony
Awesome stellar melody
Nashville way a single ought to be
Slipped away from me

Slipped away from me
Songs are slippery

The biggest rhyme and harmony
Monumental melody
Billboard way a single ought to be
Slipped away from me

Woke up with a stiff hit yesterday
Nibbled on my brain but wouldn’t stay
A number one hit I let get away
A number one hit I let get away
A number one hit I let get away
A number one hit …got away
True story!

I DO (Round Two)

Written By: Gary Procyshyn

I Do (Round Two)

How many notes how many words
Have sung about love that’s already been heard
A different poem with the same old hurt
I want you to cry for all your worth

Throw away the last vow
This love is new
Say with me now
I do

Say never again you went through this once
Our old mistakes are over and done
This promise I make isn’t offered too young
We’re smarter with age and with real love

Throw away the last vow
This one is new
Stand here with me now
And say I do

I wanna spend my life with you
Just say I do
I wanna spend my life with you
Just say I do
You know its true
I do

Throw away the last vow
Our love is new
Throw away the last vow
I’ll spend my life with you
Throw away the last vow
This loves brand new
Throw away the last vow
This time we know its true
Throw away the last vow
This loves brand new
Throw away the last vow
This time we know it’s true
I do

Only If You're Listening

Written By: Gary Procyshyn

ONLY IF YOU’RE LISTENING

ONLY IF YOU’RE LISTENING

Know that I will cry at night
Only If you’re listening
Lonely that I am tonight
I know that you don’t miss me

I’ll hold the air you used to be
Only if you’re watching
The cold lack of sympathy
Holds my hand and haunts me

I will wait will you
I will wait will you

Thought our hearts were satisfied
Only yours was breaking
The lonely eyes of sacrifice
Know that you still hate me

I will wait will you
I will wait will you…will you

Know that I will cry at night
Only if you’re listening
Lonely that I am tonight
I know that you don’t miss me
Lonely I will cry tonight
And hope
You might
Miss me

Ripe

Written By: Gary Procyshyn

RIPE

RIPE

Words colourful
Words don’t always belong
Words playful
Underneath the soul becomes a song

You belong in my life
You are ripe for the ride
You belong in my life
You are ripe for the ride

Words weaving
Words dance on a note
Words teasing
A heartbeat that never lets go

You belong in my life
You are ripe for the ride
You belong in my life
You are ripe for the ride

Dormant not dead
Distant unsaid
A whisper awakens
And soars alive with the wind

You belong in my life
You are ripe for the ride
You belong in my life
You are ripe for the ride

You belong in my life
You are ripe for the ride
You belong in my life
You are ripe for the ride

Discography

TOSS THE COVERS
-This collection of incredibly unique Acoustic covers showcase Gary Procyshyn's amazing G.I.T. guitar playing and superb vocals. The songs are stripped down, real, unprocessed and the energy unleashed is very evident.

Crazy Train opens with a stripped down version of this classic complete with an incredible flamenco influenced guitar solo that would make Randy Rhoads proud and stays true to the original solo. Rush's Limelight is transformed into a slick finger style Jazz/Pop fusion. Basket Case undergoes a complete metamorphosis into a beautiful jazz classic.

You'll enjoy the humor in My Best Friend's Girl as a country polka and I'm an Adult Now's full circle from the 80's hit to actually "being" an adult now. The deep and broody version of Wonderwall is breathtaking and very emotional.

You'll admire the guitar playing, love the vocals and appreciate the very original presentation of all these tracks.

ONLY IF YOU'RE LISTENING
-After graduating from G.I.T. in Los Angeles Gary has found the true Artsist in himself as a Singer Songwriter / Guitar player. This 1st solo release showcased his incredible vocals and unique harmony style. The guitar playing is outstanding and unique avoiding the tradional while being varied and tasteful.

The lead off track Like A Stone won Honorable mentions in the Billboard World Song Contest as well as The International Songwriting Competition in London , England. Gary's talents won praise from Chris Burke-Gaffney (CBG Artist Development, Songwriter and Manager who helped Chantal Kreviazuk's career start rolling) and Nashville song plugger Sherril Blackman.

The incredibly original acoustic version of U2's huge single I Will Follow is a guitar players delight and an awsome listen for anyone who is a fan of Singer Songwriter unplugged covers. Ripe is an ambiant love song written for the loss and recapture of Gary's passion for music. Sorry is loaded with attitude from a bad break up and the guitar playing is proof of why Gary won a Scholarship for Guitar to G.I.T.

The album covers allot of ground with real true heartfelt emotion from realtionships come and gone. A listen to the title track Only If You're Listening and you will feel the pain of lost love. Sarcastic humor is captured in Wither. The last track My Song is a terrific homage to Gary's life, the ineviatable end we all face one day and the celebration of it we should enjoy while here at the last farewell.

"This Album is alive and breaths: Only If You're Listening" garyP
