Aspiring songwriter with fresh original pop/rock music that appeals to chart oriented and non mainstream listeners

Biography

Gary Randman is an aspiring songwriter who's been writing original pop/rock songs for the past 15 years. Gary seems to have a natural knack for writing songs that are generally simple in form yet leave the listener satisfied from pleasing melodies, catchy hooks and identifiable lyrics. His lack of restriction on his songwriting process has allowed him to write songs in the pop, rock and adult contemporary genres and appeal to various audiences ranging from the chart oriented, to those who are looking for something a little outside the mainstream, with more musical or lyrical depth.

Since he started to write songs in 1987 at college, Gary's main objective is to entertain the listener. His process for songwriting starts with the music first and then he layers the lyrics upon the mood and feel of the melody and rhythm. Not trying to match a pre-defined formula he builds upon piano improvisations and basic accompaniment patterns on his Yamaha and ancient Casio keyboards, which are all driven by the direction his muse wants to go. He enjoys writing songs that affect people from a simple song about love or friendship to exploring more complex human emotions and situations.

While hard to identify direct influences he is inspired by many of the classic rock artists. He is captivated by the creativity of The Beatles and the way they were able to write songs in so many different directions. He strives to obtain the musical impact of such artists as The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, U2 and Alannis Morrisette. He's enchanted with Bruce Springsteen's great mix of words and music that convey human heart and emotion. He admires the successful career of non-performing songwriter Diane Warren and hopes to follow in her path. While he tries to emulate the contributions of these well-known artists, all types of music are a source to his creative process for creating the notes and words to a given song.

In 1999 Gary was pleasantly surprised that his song "Sleeping With A Stranger" was a finalist in the UNISONG International Song Contest. With his first positive response from someone in the music industry he was motivated to start completing his catalog of unfinished songs. Since the birth of his second son in 2001 Gary has work relentlessly with his time after work as a software developer and time with his family, to get down his ideas on his 4-track recorder and work out the words on paper.

Since 1999 Gary has been exploring the Internet as a source for promoting his music and resource for learning and connecting with others in the pursuit of success in the music business. In 2001 he was able to get connected with Andy Cahan of The Turtles who helps songwriters and artist showcase their talents by producing high quality demos of their music. Gary is currently finishing up completion of his first collection of demos for showcasing his songs to publishers and artists. There are many more songs to come...

Although only beginning his songwriting journey, Gary believes his success as a songwriter is possible with hard work, growth and learning, persistence and patience, and the belief that he's captured something magical that people will respond to and enjoy.

Lyrics

Wanna Make Up and Just Be Friends

Written By: Gary Randman

Lady, remember the moments we shared
The good times, the bad times
I know you still care
But now that you’re gone remembering…

Running in the sun
Playing in the park
Wondering who we were
Wondering what to do
Living as two fools
Lying close under the moon

Wanna make up and just be friends
Wanna know your there until the end
Wanna tell you that I still care
Wanna let you know that I’ll be here

Mary, Hold on to me
Baby, Life goes on and on

Lady, I know you and you know me too
The long walks and late talks
Of finding the truth
But now I’m alone thinking of…

Running in the sun
Playing in the park
Wondering who we were
Wondering what to do
Living as two fools
Lying close under the moon

Wanna make up and just be friends
Wanna know your there until the end
Wanna tell you that I still care
Wanna let you know that I’ll be here

Mary, Hold on to me
Baby, Life goes on and on

It's Love

Written By: Gary Randman

Love, is one step away
Tell me girl, are you still afraid?
Finding out, we’re so much alike
It scares me too

Know you’ve been burned
So you keep your distance
Your minds made up but
Your heart says give in
You won’t move away cause you’ll always wonder

Don’t deny it
Try to fight it
We both know
That It’s Love!

Love, is so hard to find
Come on girl, won’t you change your mind?
Looking back, you fear hurt again
I understand

We’re by your door
And I know you need me
Your words say go but
Your eyes say don’t leave
You can’t runaway cause you want to be near

Don’t deny it
You can’t hide it
We both know
That It’s Love!

You can’t hide it
You’re excited
I feel it too
Let me love you

You Deserve The Best Of Life

Written By: Gary Randman

I know you’re holding on
You’re hurt and not so strong
I see your crying eyes
Don’t be sad, Don’t be mad
It’ll be alright

You deserve the best of life
No more pain for you to fight
I have seen what you’ve been through
It’s brought out the best in you

I see inside your soul
You have a heart of gold
An angel in disguise
You’re so kind, do what’s right
You shine so bright

You deserve the best of life
Only good and only right
I wish you lots of love
I hope you’re blessed with much

You deserve the best of life
You deserve the best of times
May all your dreams come true
I hope you see it through
Don’t care how bad it seems
They can’t take your dignity
